Towards the end of 2018 I was asked to assist in setting up a print template for the Crescent Writers’ anthology: “Women on a Wave”, as well as put together cover art.
The brief required that the cover represent the area from which the writers were from; Bayside, Melbourne, and the period from which most of the stories were from, which
was roughly 1950 to 1980. The loud colours and exaggerated shapes in the chosen image fit those requirements well, and the type, AR Bonnie, is not only a throwback to the writer’s childhoods, but also a staunch contrast to the artwork.
I was also lucky enough to attend, and film, the launch and reading on International Women’s Day, March 8 2019.
